- dollar store chess and/or checkers game pieces
The paint I used apparently doesn't work on metal, so the tape peeled some of it off, so make sure you don't make the same mistake or you'll have to go back and hand paint like I did. I marked off a grid with painter's tape and went back and cut out squares with an X-acto knife where the tape intersected. After two coats of paint, my table is now a game board! I stored the chess and checker pieces in separate bags under the table for easy access.
