Anything by Jennie Allen

Anything by Jennie Allen
I went to a women's conference at church where Jennie Allen was speaking and decided to read her book.  She was deeply impacted by hearing about a girl who left her dreams of college and marriage to move to Uganda and care for the people out there.  This girl, Katie, currently has adopted 13 girls and started an organization (Amazima) caring for children in severe poverty.  Jennie's story resonated with me because I had read the book, Kisses from Katie, prior to hearing about Jennie.  In her book Anything, Jennie tells her struggle and commitment to Jesus the night she heard about Katie.  She and her husband prayed to God that they would do anything for him, and stop living comfortable, easy lives for their own convenience.  Jennie tells how her perspective was flipped upside down, and the challenges and blessings that came from living out this prayer for two years.  Great read, great challenge, and by the end you may end up on your knees praying anything to God as well.  4/5
