My Favorite Crock Pot Meals


I've found that times vary from each person's Crock Pot, but the average cook times are 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.

Pot Roast:

  • boneless beef chuck pot roast
  • potatoes, cut into chunks
  • baby carrots
  • sliced onion
  • water
  • salt

1. Salt and pepper meat and veggies.
2. Place all in Crock Pot.
3. Add 1/2 c water, add as needed to keep moist.
4. Cook on low 6-8 hours.




Sauerkraut and Sausage:

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, cut into pieces
  • 2 lb sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
  • 1 t caraway seeds
  • 4-6 medium halved red potatoes
  • 1 medium sliced onion
  • 2/3 c water
1. Cook sausage on skillet and cut into pieces.
2. Place all ingredients into Crock Pot.
3. Cook 8 hours on low.


Turkey-Veggie Chili
  • 4 c (3 cans) beans: black, white, pinto--drained
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 15 oz diced tomatoes w liquid
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 c diced yellow onion
  • 1 medium yellow or red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 large carrots, diced
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 T chili powder
  • 1 T all-purpose herb seasoning
  • 1/2 T salt
  • 2 c cooked ground turkey
  • 1 c shredded cheddar cheese
1. Add all but meat and cheese to Crock Pot.
2. Cook 8 hours
3. Add meat last 30 minutes.
4. Add cheese when serving.


Easy BBQ Ribs
  • 1 T paprika
  • 1 T light brown sugar
  • 1/8 t cayenne pepper
  • 1 t each salt and pepper
  • 2 lbs baby back ribs
  • 1 c bbq sauce
  • Pam spray
1. Mix all but bbq sauce and rub on both sides of ribs.
2. Arrange ribs by standing them up on walls of Crock Pot (thicker side down, meat against sides)
3. Pour bbq sauce over ribs.
4. Cook 6-8 hours on low.



Chicken and Corn Soup:

  • 1/2 lb red potatoes
  • 1/2 lb sweet potatoes
  • 2 lbs chicken thighs
  • 2 c chicken broth
  • 2 scallions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • frozen corn
  • 1 red pepper
1. Combine all in Crock Pot.
2. Cook 6-8 hours on low.


Halibut Stew:
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 potato
  • 1 1/2 c chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 lime (juice)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 t salt and pepper
  • 1 t chili powder
  • 1/4 c fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 t cumin
  • 1 lb halibut fillets
1. Add all to Crock Pot except fish.  
2. Cook on low 8-9 hours, adding fish last 30 minutes.



Vegetable Stew:

  • 3-4 peeled and cubed potatoes
  • can of green beans
  • can of corn
  • can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 lb chopped beef or ground turkey 
  • can of carrots
  • beef broth
  • 1/2 c barley or orzo pasta
  • parsley
  • garlic powder

1. Brown meat in pan.
2. Add everything to Crock Pot.
3. Cook on low 6-8 hours.
